Use BBC School News Report and BBC Local radio to deliver your 'Legacy 110' project
The First World War Centenary Battlefields Tour programme has teamed up with BBC News School Report to enable pupils to create their own news reports of their tours to the battlefield sites of the Western Front. Never Such Innocence run an annual poetry and art competition for children across the British Isles, and now globally, throughout the centenary (2014-18). They supply a free comprehensive resource pack to inspire entries to their competition, it is downloadable from their website and free hardcopies are available for schools, on request. The 2017-18 competition is now open for submissions.
The IWM's Lives of the First World War project is a fantastic opportunity for students to take part in a national commemorative project and undertake some genuine historical research and enquiry-based work in the classroom.
